I sent PMs to the 5 unofficial pollsters who have 4 consecutive weeks of polling (bigslick, zice, NoNewsNetwork, TURK, mbartak [skipped TheTopFan who is already involved in the forum]).

I may yet go through and "retire" pollsters from the Former Official/Candidate group who have not logged on in the last 2 years. IF we decide to allow Former/Candidate pollsters to be upgraded automatically, this will help ease the weeding process for me. I'll record the names in the Add/Remove thread in case we want to backtrack.

I don't mind a new Retired/Inactive group for such users who may one day return. We can GrayOut their usernames until they return, rather than returning them to the newbuser font.

The main reason I asked about the committee potentially supplanting the main poll is that the committee still releases a Top 25 each week; I suppose the only real difference is a more pointed focus on the top four/first two out. Would people end up having a different "committee" Top 4 than the Top 4 in their normal poll?
If possible the "committee" function would be more interactive so as to build consensus. I may think Michigan is a Top 4 team but I should also have a say on whether Penn State or Washington gets the fourth playoff spot. The role of our committee could also expand to selecting participants in each of the New Years Six bowl games. We can talk specifics in another thread.

EDIT: maybe I should have applied the SSV first.

Crayton, those are all very solid points on the committee, and yes can be discussed elsewhere. Also, phew, just got back in time to avoid The Great Gray Out of 2016 :P

I just bought the domain name PlayoffPoll.com

IDK if it will make a huge difference, but what are yall's thoughts with switching the site to this name? Was only like $12, no biggie if we do not use it.....

Personally, I think cfbfanpoll better describes what this site is, but owning that domain and routing it to this one could help draw in some more eyes.

I hear ya. I like the current name, also...

Will have playoffpoll.com redirect to here obviously...

Might get some promo items made in that name also to see how the reaction is...

Other than the 64 team playoff at the end of the season, I think my presence around here will be greatly reduced to possibly non-existent next season. In short, it's hard to justify to myself that the amount of time I spend doing things around here is worth it based on the ever-decreasing presence of others. Maybe I'll vote, maybe I won't. Not sure. A few of you will miss me I know. I know Topfan and a couple Penn State fans that won't. I'm not for everyone. Hope you all enjoy yourselves.

Beaver - You have certainly done a lot for this site and it is appreciated.

ASJTimm may be taking over the site from now on. He has interest in it and that may be for the best, and I think I am going to turn things over to him if he wants it...

I had big dreams for this site when I bought it, and it just hasn't worked out as planned. The transition was not a success in the early days due to technical issues that were not anticipated. I know a ton about college football, but not much about web stuff, and it bit me when I got into something I didn't understand...People have no idea the sleep I have lost over this site as voting has gone down...After all, I am the one that paid some pretty good money for the site, had it rebuilt, and had dreams of it growing big....But hey, it's life. Some things work out and some thins do not. You live. You learn.

Timm is a great guy and has some great ideas. I am going to be there to help him as far as getting some marketing items made, etc...and helping him organize a social media push....

I want this site to grow and be fun, even if I turn it over to someone else...

I think after all these seasons, it is finally at a good point as far as how things work and the way things look...

It just needs new people, fresh voices, and that is what Timm and I are going to try to do in the early days of the 2017 season - go out and try to get new folks....But as far as running the site and owning it, that will be him....

I appreciate very much those that have helped out.

Hope you stick around Beaver, but if you don't, I wish you the best....

Yes, BeaverBeliever, please stay!

As for site ownership, I'm pretty stoked that Top asked me to do this, so in the coming days I'll be compiling the suggestions here to make sure we address them all.

Ditto. I'm excited too.

I'll be lurking occasionally this Spring, so PM me if needed.

Hmm, the ability to edit past/missed polls might be neat on its own too.

aa) Someone else mentioned awarding Bucks to the Pick'em winner.
bb) Should we update the name?
cc) Are there things that Bucks could purchase??? Interview on an aforementioned news site? Change the forum colors to your team colors for a week?

I think that were me some time late last year
