matchups du jour? (one pollster's opinion)
Utah at USC
TCU at Kansas State
Auburn at (will the real)LSU(please stand up?)
Oklahoma vs Texas(Red River Rivalry)
Navy at Memphis
GA Tech at Miami(FL) for the ACC Coastal lead
Texas Tech at West Virginia
Oregon at Stanford

the floor is now open

I always cheer for the mid-majors to make some noise and my program inexplicably has Navy as the 6th most likely playoff team and the only mid-major peeking at a playoff spot (99.1% chance of making the playoff if undefeated, next is Central Florida at 45.2%). I don't know if the Army game is monkeying with the numbers or if beating 3 strong teams to end the season (Notre Dame, Houston, and UCF/USF) really is a resume cincher. Lordy, that would be a mess if Navy did go 12-0 and the committee had to postpone bowl pairings an additional week. Unless SDSU goes undefeated though, I don't see how the American champ misses the NY6.

EDIT: And the other game I'll be watching is Miami-GT, practically the only game with 2 playoff hopefuls this week.

Utah at USC: Utah is a good team, fought hard vs. Stanford, but they will go to LA and get throttled by USC. Final score: 33-17

TCU at Kansas State: I'm calling upset alert here. TCU feels like the better team but I predict them dropping this game on the road after battling W. Virginia last week. Final score: 24-21

Auburn at (will the real)LSU(please stand up?): I'm not buying either of these teams. Is this a primetime game? Death Valley at night is tough. I'll take LSU to win this in a very close game. 17-14

Oklahoma vs Texas(Red River Rivalry): I've loved this matchup forever. My favorite of the year. It's usually fairly close but I have a feeling that the Sooners are pissed and will come out firing. OU will end up pulling away here and win by 20+ points. Final score: 41-20

Navy at Memphis: I'm rooting for Navy to keep this winning streak going but I think it ends here. Memphis wins with a late touchdown. Final score 31-27

GA Tech at Miami(FL) for the ACC Coastal lead: This should be a great game. I'll go ahead and call the road team to squeak out a victory late. GTECH wins. Final score: 28-24.

Texas Tech at West Virginia: This is the game I'm most excited to watch. TTU offense has been lighting it up but they're defense is pretty bad. I have WVU ranked so I'm predicting they win by a TD but, man, it's hard to call knowing that TTU will put up a good amount of points.

Oregon at Stanford: Oregon is awful. Stanford runs a pro style offense and will physically dominate the line of scrimmage. Oregon will wear down and make mistakes. Stanford wins convincingly. Final score: 33-19

No real blockbuster matchups this week but those look like the most that have the most to gain or lose this week.

This is one those weeks where you look at the lineup of games and say 'feh". But it's one of those weeks when something shocking could happen. We will see.

true-Utah-USC is the only Top 25 matchup this week and I didn't even have Utah ranked

Syracuse, who lost to Middle Tennessee St, has Clemson on the ropes. I really shouldn't be surprised by any college football result anymore but......I'm surprised.

2:29 LEFT. 'CUSE WITH A 3 POINT LEAD AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE BALL INSIDE THE CLEMSON 30

CLEMSON HAS 0 T.O.s

Ya, Wazzu was knocked off 37-3 by the previously 0-3 in conference Cal Bears. Which undefeated is next up in the Noon games?

37-3?? Wow. Friday the 13th, indeed. This *is* the kind of chaos you want as a 1-loss team.

If I had to pick another undefeated to lose this week. Navy would be it. SDSU would be my secondary pick.
