since it appears some groups start conference play next week, let's see if the schedule starts getting some teeth.....
But for openers
TCU-OK State
Oklahoma-Baylor (for the sole purpose of seeing what the O/U might be)
Washington-Colorado
UCLA-Stanford
And, what could be the dog of the season
Texas-El Paso at New Mexico State

About 15 minutes from getting the madness started-hope your team wins this week

Oklahoma vs Baylor?

If Baylor can keep it from a 50 point spread I would be shocked. Baylor might be the worst team in Texas. Even Rice, North Texas, and Utep would give Baylor a hard time.

I think these games will tell us more about those dark horse teams.

Kentucky vs Florida. Does kentucky actually have a good team this year this should be a good indicator.

Duke vs North Carolina. Easily Dukes toughest game so far.

Norte Dame vs Mich ST. Non conference but should tell us something about where these two stand.

Houston vs Texas Tech. Should be a fun and high scoring game, but both of these teams have to prove how good they are.

Miss st. Vs Georgia might be the most telling game of the week.

The rest you already mentioned that I can think of.

others that haven't been mentioned.....

curious to see if my #21 Vandy can keep it close against Bama. Tide were none too impressive against Colorado State (not that they needed to be), so if Vandy wants to prove they're somewhat decent, better not lose any worse than the Rams or Seminoles did.

Cal is another team I'm looking at to justify their spot in my poll (I have them 24th). Like Vandy, they face a Top 5 opponent in USC, who looked pretty beatable last week. I hope Cal can give the Trojans a game.

a little surprised to see Utah (pretty comfortably) included in both major polls. I think they could certainly lose @ Arizona. The Utes' toughest opponent so far was BYU (lost to Wiscy and LSU by a combined 67-6), who they just scraped by.

Florida State ought to handle NC State, but how will the weather-enforced double-bye effect their play?

similarly, UCF has to travel to Maryland after not playing for 2 weeks. was the Terrapins' win over Texas a fluke? we'll see.

Nebraska vs Rutgers for the worst team in the Big Ten

Charlotte vs Georgia State for the worst team in the FBS

Michigan could very much lose in West Lafayette - Purdue has looked like a fringe-Top 25 team, hanging with Louisville and shellacking Missouri. If Michigan has the same problem closing out drives they've had the last two weeks, this will be close.

I feel like Iowa has a shot against Penn State, given home field advantage.

Biggest games I'm interested in are Georgia-Mississippi State, Iowa-Penn State, Vandy-Bama and TCU-Oklahoma State. All those games will show us who's real and who isn't.
Vandy, even in a loss, can tell us if the Commodores are really going to make some noise this year or if the win over K-State wasn't that telling. TCU and Iowa will be looking to show the country that they are playoff contenders while Penn State and Oklahoma State try to solidify their place in that group.
Georgia-Mississippi State is really fun because the winner will vault into that contenders' group whether they belong there or not. Should be a fun Saturday.

Won 20 bucks on the Miss st game but the final score was the surprise not the win itself. I wouldn't have guessed vandy would have won, but Kansas st is overrated just like the Big 12 is. Once The Oklahoma teams decide to go to better conferences I expect the big 12 will dissolve.

Not really surprising. Boise only looked impressive for 3 quarters against Wazzou, and Virginia's only loss was to a decent, or even good Indiana team.

Also on watch: Hoston-TTU and Toledo-Miami. Ever since the '07 Fiesta Bowl I've been cheering for mid-majors to make the 'playoff'.

The Seminoles (0-2, 0-1), who had a 21-day layoff due to Hurricane Irma, have dropped their first two games to open a season for the first time in 28 years. It also marks the first time since 2011 that FSU dropped back-to-back games.

Hey 'Noles.........WTF???????????
