Teams are quick to let go of coaches when things are going south. Or at least it seems quick to fans, other times fans are calling for coaches to get fired. Nebraska fired Bo Pelini and is looking to have a good season in Mike Riley's second year as head coach. Many Husker fans were upset that Pelini was fired. Pelini was fired for several reasons record and character. Now Husker fans seem to be embracing Coach Riley. Brian Kelly put an ultimatum to his players, that no position is secure except the long snapper. It may be perceived as too harsh, but it may be just what his team needs.

I find it sad how quickly teams release a head coach. Sometimes a bad year happens for whatever reason and no matter how well the coach has performed in previous seasons the university is so short sited that they over react. Of course college sports has been corrupted by money which I directly blame the television networks especially ESPN for that. So a losing season or even an average season could cost you your job.

Mike Bobinski is Purdue's athletic director. For those interested. What Purdue needs to do is find someone who can return them to their "basketball on grass" roots. If they can find that coach this program can be successful.

will Charlie Strong make this list before Halloween?

I don't see three wins on their remaining sked (Baylor, at TT, WVU, at Kansas, TCU)

At best I see Texas going 2-3 in their remaining games, and Strong getting shown the door.

Yeah, I can't see him getting another chance. What do you think will happen at Oregon?

THAT is a head scratcher. No one can look me in the eyes(I have four of them) and honestly tell me they had the Quack Attack at 2-5 right now. They have AZ State, at USC, Stanford, at Utah and at Oregon State and that's a table I don't see them running
